Job summary

Privately held New Jersey manufacturer of water and wastewater process equipment is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer. The role emphasizes SolidWorks design, fabrication drawings, and strong interaction with the shop floor in Morris County.

You will tackle new equipment concepts, lead conveyor-focused work, and collaborate closely with fabricators to optimize build methods. Base salary ranges from $75,000 to $90,000 with 100% company-paid medical premiums for individual and family.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 3 or 4 years of mechanical design experience.
• Proficient in SolidWorks.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and detail-oriented drawing ability.
• Comfortable discussing designs with fabricators and shop personnel.
• Local to northern New Jersey and onsite in Morris County; relocation not offered.
• Nice to have: experience with conveyors; water/wastewater background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks and generate fabrication drawings.
• Determine how to build customer needs, including equipment not previously built.
• Carry conveyor designs from requirements through released drawings.
• Visit fabrication shop to review plans, check progress, and resolve build questions.
• Prepare drawings for outside fabricators with appropriate detail.
• Support the project engineer with required design work.
• Ensure details are correct before release so equipment is built right the first time.
