Job summary

Privately held New Jersey manufacturer is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Morris County, NJ. The role focuses on designing water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks, creating fabrication drawings, and collaborating with shop floor fabricators to optimize builds.

Candidates should have a Mechanical Engineering degree and 3–4 years of SolidWorks experience. Onsite work only with relocation not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 3–4 years of mechanical design experience.
• Proficient in SolidWorks, the platform for design and fabrication drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to design beyond drafting.

Responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks and produce fabrication drawings.
• Determine how to build customer requirements, including new equipment.
• Lead conveyor designs from requirements through released drawings.
• Visit fabrication shop to review plans and resolve build questions.
• Prepare drawings for outside fabricators with necessary detail.
• Support the project engineer with design work for each order.
• Ensure details are right before release so equipment fits first time.
