Privately held manufacturer of water and wastewater process equipment in Morris County, NJ is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer experienced in SolidWorks. This design-focused role emphasizes figuring out how to build new equipment with the shop floor input, not just drafting.

You will own the design from concept through fabrication drawings and collaborate with fabricators to optimize constructability. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 3–4 years of relevant design

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–4 years of mechanical design experience.
• Proficient in SolidWorks for design and fabrication drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate with fabricators.
• Local to northern New Jersey and onsite in Morris County; relocation not offered.

Responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks and produce fabrication drawings.
• Determine how to build customer requirements, including new equipment.
• Carry conveyor designs from requirements through released drawings.
• Visit fabrication shop to review plans and resolve build questions.
• Prepare drawings for outside fabricators.
• Support the project engineer running each order.
• Ensure details are right before release.
