Job summary

Privately held manufacturer of water and wastewater process equipment in Morris County, NJ, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with 3–4 years of SolidWorks experience. Base salary $75,000–$90,000; 100% medical premiums for individual and family; 100% onsite with no relocation offered.

The engineer will design equipment, cooperate with fabrication teams, and expand in‑house fabrication capabilities. The role emphasizes design ownership, working from requirements through fabrication drawings,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• 3–4 years of mechanical design experience with SolidWorks required.
• Proficient in SolidWorks for design and fabrication drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands‑on problem solving.
• Local to northern New Jersey and able to work onsite in Morris County; relocation not offered.
• Preferred: experience designing conveyors or similar fabricated equipment; water/wastewater background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater equipment in SolidWorks and produce fabrication drawings.
• Determine how to build customer-need equipment, including new designs.
• Lead conveyor design work from requirements through released drawings.
• Visit fabrication shop to review plans and resolve build questions with fabricators.
• Prepare detailed drawings for outside fabricators as needed.
• Support the project engineer with design work for each order and ensure first‑time fit.
