Job summary

Math Corps is seeking a Math Tutor to spend days at a local school helping students improve math skills. AmeriCorps stipend and benefits are provided; training is included. You’ll tutor groups of up to 3 students for 20–30 minutes, then rotate to the next group and return to the classroom.

Position runs 2026–2027 with 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday, daytime hours. Compensation is $16.67 per hour, plus health insurance, childcare assistance, and education benefits.

Qualifications

• Dependable with good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient with basic computer use (email, online navigation).
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• 18+ with a HS diploma or equivalent.
• US citizen or lawful permanent resident.
• Able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter scores into data software.
• Commit to growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
