Job summary

Math Corps, powered by Ampact, is seeking a Math Tutor to help students build math skills at a local school. You’ll work with groups of up to 3 students for 20–30 minutes, following a set schedule and reporting progress to the onsite coach.

This AmeriCorps role offers a $17.50/hour stipend, paid biweekly, with benefits including health insurance, child care assistance, loan forbearance, and education benefits. Positions run 2026–27, with weekdays, no weekends, and part-time options.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email and navigating online).
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
