Job summary

Math Corps, powered by Ampact, seeks a Math Tutor to work in a local school, helping students improve math skills. You’ll lead groups of up to 3 students for 20–30 minutes and then move them back to class for the next session.

AmeriCorps positions offer a biweekly paycheck, a $18.89 per hour stipend, and benefits including health insurance, child care assistance, and education benefits. The role runs Aug 2026–Jun 2027, with 35 hours/week, Monday to Friday, during daytime school hours.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email and online navigation).
• Able to complete a background check and meet program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead tutoring sessions for groups of up to 3 students for 20–30 minutes.
• Track student progress and coordinate with onsite coach.
• Enter student scores into data software and monitor growth.
• Commit to growth through coaching and training.
• Share experience with the community and support students' confidence.
