Job summary
Math Corps, powered by Ampact, is seeking a Math Tutor in Washington, DC to help students build their math skills during the school day. You'll tutor groups of up to 3 students for 20–30 minutes and then prep the next group.
You'll receive training, track progress in data software, and work with an on-site coach. This AmeriCorps role offers a biweekly stipend and opportunities for education awards; commitment aligns with the 2026-27 school year.
Qualifications
- Dependable with good attendance history.
- Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
- Proficient in basic computer skills (email, online navigation).
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
- 18+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
- Ability to successfully complete a background check.
Responsibilities
- Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
- Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule.
- Track student progress and meet with on-site coach.
- Conduct skill assessments and enter scores in data software.
- Commit to personal growth through coaching and training.
