Job summary

Math Corps, powered by Ampact and AmeriCorps, is seeking a Math Tutor to help students at local schools build skills and confidence through small-group sessions.

You’ll tutor groups of up to 3 students for 20–30 minutes, track progress, and attend coaching sessions. The program runs for 2026-27.

Full-time AmeriCorps members receive a biweekly stipend; part-time roles are also available. 35 hours per week; daytime, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email and navigating online).
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
• Ability to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores in data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
