Job summary

Ames, IA-based Math Corps AmeriCorps tutor position with Ampact offers an opportunity to help students build math skills at local schools. You’ll tutor groups of up to three students for 20–30 minutes and then move to the next group, supporting students as they progress and return to class.

AmeriCorps stipend provided, with coaching and training to grow professionally. We value reliability, ability to follow directions, basic computer skills, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Dependable with good attendance
• Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback
• Proficient in basic computer skills (like email and navigating online)
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing
• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
• A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States
• Able to successfully complete abackground check

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult who's focused on helping students thrive
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training
• Share your experience with the community
