Job summary

Math Corps is powered by AmeriCorps and administered by Ampact. We’re looking for a Math Tutor to join local schools and help students build essential math skills; we’ll train you and coach you every step.

Each school day you’ll tutor groups of up to 3 students for 20–30 minutes, then guide them back to class before starting with the next group. This AmeriCorps role includes a stipend and education award.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email and navigating online).
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• 18 years of age or older with a highschool diploma or equivalent.
• A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Ability to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores in data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
