Job summary

Ampact's Math Corps program seeks tutors to work in local schools, delivering structured math practice to groups of students. You’ll receive training and coaching, helping students build skills and confidence while adhering to a structured tutoring schedule.

As an AmeriCorps member, you’ll participate in a full-time tutoring role with a biweekly stipend and education award opportunities. Strong communication and reliable attendance are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email and navigating online).
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult who's focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
