Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Material Flow Engineer in Hawthorne, CA, to optimize receiving, storage, movement, and presentation of materials for flight and non-flight programs supporting Starship production goals.

You will design material flow strategies, plan factory layouts, model resource needs, and develop packaging solutions while collaborating with Engineering, Production and Supply Chain. Onsite role with demanding milestones and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (internship and school projects qualify).
• Experience with layout design in AutoCAD or similar, building warehouse and manufacturing lineside layouts.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement material flow strategies from receipt to lineside and reverse logistics.
• Develop layouts for material flow and storage to targeted inventory levels.
• Create labor and equipment models to match material flow strategies and track improvements.
• Develop cost‑effective packaging solutions for inter-vendor and internal use.
• Use Excel/Tableau/SQL to assess material flow performance and drive data‑driven solutions.
• Lead safety training and ensure compliance with SpaceX safety standards.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production and Supply Chain on cross‑functional projects.
