Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking an Operations Engineer (Material Flow) to analyze and optimize the receiving, storage, and movement of materials for Starship programs. You will design layouts, develop material flow strategies, and apply lean principles to improve end-to-end processes.

The role requires hands-on data analysis (Excel/Tableau/SQL), collaboration with Engineering and Production, and a willingness to work extended hours to meet milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience with material flow optimization and layout planning.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement innovative material flow strategies from receipt to lineside.
• Develop layouts for material flow and storage achieving inventory targets.
• Build labor and equipment models to optimize resource use and track improvements.
• Develop packaging solutions to reduce total landed cost and support program targets.
• Analyze data with Excel/Tableau/SQL to identify issues and drive solutions.
• Lead safety and training programs, ensuring compliance with SpaceX standards.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production and Supply Chain on critical projects.
