Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Material Flow Engineer to analyze, design and optimize the receiving, storage, movement, and presentation of materials at Starbase for all flight and non-flight programs. The role centers on applying lean principles, data analytics, and modeling to enable Starship objectives.

Responsibilities include design and optimization of material flow, layout planning, packaging, data reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Production and Supply Chain to meet

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• 1+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (internship and school projects qualify).
• Experience with lean material flow principles and data analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize material flow from receipt to lineside and reverse logistics.
• Develop layouts for material flow and storage to achieve target inventory levels.
• Develop labor and equipment models to match material flow strategies.
• Develop cost effective packaging solutions for between vendors and SpaceX and within Starbase facilities.
• Use data tools (Excel, Tableau, SQL) to assess material flow performance.
• Conduct risk assessments and lead training for new processes and equipment.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production and Supply Chain on critical projects.
