Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is hiring an Operations Engineer (Material Flow) to design and optimize material flow from receiving through lineside and reverse logistics to support Starship production.

You will apply lean principles, data analytics, and time studies to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and ensure safe operations across SpaceX facilities, working with Engineering, Production and Supply Chain teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical, manufacturing or related field.
• 2+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience with material flow engineering and layouts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement material flow strategies from receipt to lineside and reverse logistics.
• Develop layouts for material flow and storage to target inventory levels.
• Create labor and equipment models and conduct time studies for efficiency.
• Develop packaging solutions and coordinate with vendors for right-sized packaging.
• Use data tools to analyze performance metrics and drive improvements.
• Lead safety assessments and training for materials management processes.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production and Supply Chain on key projects.
