Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking an experienced Material Flow Engineer to analyze, design, and optimize the receiving, storage, movement, and presentation of materials for Starship programs, enabling scalable production.

The role uses lean material flow principles, data analytics, problem solving, modeling, and project management to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective material movement, from receipt through lineside to support Starbase targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (internship and school projects qualify).
• Experience with layout design in AutoCAD or similar, building both warehouse and manufacturing lineside layouts.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement material flow strategies from receipt to lineside and any reverse logistics required.
• Develop layouts for material flow and storage to achieve targeted inventory levels and density.
• Use data analysis to assess material flow performance and support decision making.
