Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an experienced Material Flow Engineer to analyze, design and optimize the receiving, storage, movement, and presentation of materials at Starbase for all flight and non-flight programs to enable overall Starship objectives. This role requires on-site work at Starbase, TX, and collaboration with Engineering, Production and Supply Chain teams.

Responsibilities

• Process Design and Optimization: Design and implement strategies for efficient material flow from receipt to lineside and reverse logistics.
• Factory and Warehouse Layout Planning: Develop layouts for material flow and storage to achieve inventory targets.
• Develop Materials Management Resource Plans: Create labor and equipment models to match material flow strategies and track improvements.
• Part Packaging and Rack Flow: Develop cost-effective packaging solutions to optimize landed cost and handling efficiency.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Use Excel/Tableau/SQL to assess performance metrics and identify improvements.
• Safety and Training: Conduct risk assessments, ensure compliance with safety standards, and lead training for new processes.
• Project Collaboration: Work with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain on cross-functional projects.
