Job summary

FirstService Residential seeks an Executive Director to lead a large Master Association, guiding strategy, operations, and resident experience in a dynamic amenity-rich community. You will work with Board members, residents, and business partners to drive results and deliver exceptional service.

This role demands executive leadership, strong financial acumen, and a proven ability to manage diverse stakeholders while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• 7+ years relevant work experience in hospitality, property or facilities management.
• Minimum 2 years project management experience.
• Experience managing large direct or indirect staff.
• Budgets and fiduciary responsibility.
• Strong decision-making ability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of legislation impacting property management (preferred).
• Strong understanding of proposal/bid process.
• CMCA/AMS certification required.
• Critical thinking, problem solving, judgement and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook and Windows.
• Ability to work with sensitive and/or confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Assist Board with annual budget input and preparation.
• Oversee daily financial management and recordkeeping per budget.
• Monitor collections and maintain maintenance fee accounts.
• Report monthly financials to stakeholders.
• Prepare service specifications for Association vendors.
• Manage bid processes and compare bids for Board recommendations.
• Negotiate contracts subject to Board approval.
• Maintain records and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Prepare Board meeting agenda and monthly management reports.
• Coordinate with attorneys, auditors, and engineers.
• Create annual activity calendar with deadlines and meetings.
• Lead team-building and performance reviews.
• Enforce policies and ensure adherence to processes.
