Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a High-Rise General Manager to provide strong leadership and strategic direction for a residential community. This role reports to and aligns with the Board, overseeing operations, budget development, and staff performance to ensure exceptional service and compliance.

You will drive governance, coordinate with committees, manage capital plans, and maintain essential community relationships while ensuring safety and excellence in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field and three years’ experience in Property Operations, Hospitality or Construction; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of seven years of successful community management experience or equivalent professional experience, with at least 4 years managing staff with diverse expertise.
• Management experience in a small or medium-sized organization with multi-department oversight preferred.
• Understanding of physical building management, Condominium law, financial planning and property management laws.
• Valid Driver’s License and State Mandated Vehicle Insurance.
• Commitment to obtain CPM, PCAM, ARM or AMS designations or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction in development of short- and long-range plans to achieve Board objectives.
• Review organization structure and functions; recommend changes to the Board.
• Partner with public, private and volunteer organizations to provide community services.
• Lead staff recruitment, training and supervision in line with the management plan.
• Create and manage annual operating budgets with Board approval; monitor monthly financials.
• Ensure compliance with civil code, governing documents and contracts.
