Job summary

Sargent Aerospace & Defense, a RBC Bearings company, seeks a Quality Engineer II for our Tucson, AZ facility. You will lead quality initiatives, support design and manufacturing, and drive improvements to meet customer requirements and regulatory standards on an on-site schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment with aerospace/defense/marine quality standards.
• Knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, specs, and GD&T.
• Experience with FMEA, SPC, MSA, and APQP/PPAP.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality engineering activities across Aerospace, Defense, and Marine product lines.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO 9001 and customer specs.
• Investigate and resolve production, field, and supplier quality issues.
• Apply structured root cause analysis and corrective actions (FMEA, 8D, DMAIC, etc.).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and reliability.
• Develop inspection methods, acceptance criteria, and quality plans.
• Review and approve drawings, specs, and quality records; support PPAP/APQP.
• Conduct product and process audits; support MRB activities.
• Analyze quality metrics to drive process improvements and cost reductions.
• Support validation of manufacturing and special processes (welding, NDT, plating).
• Lead Lean/Six Sigma CI initiatives and travel as needed.
