Job summary

Veit is seeking a Civil Construction Intern to explore a Project Manager/Estimator career path in Rogers, MN. This full-time internship offers mentorship from a PM/Estimator, exposure to Earthwork, Utilities, Demolition, and Foundations, and potential for full-time employment after program completion.

You will review plans, perform takeoffs, solicit subcontractor quotes, and assist in bid preparation, under supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-year education toward a bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field.
• Prefer at least 1 summer of construction work experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to read plans and specs.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specs to determine project scope.
• Complete takeoffs and estimate quantities using software.
• Solicit quotes from subcontractors for bid preparation.
• Construct bids by adding activities, crews and equipment.
• Prepare bid proposals and review with estimator or PM.
