Job summary

Veit Management, Inc. seeks a Civil Construction Intern to learn the PM/Estimator track under a mentoring Project Manager/Estimator. Internships span Earthwork, Utilities, Demolition, and Foundations, with on-site 8–10 hour days in Minnesota.

You’ll review plans, perform takeoffs, and help prepare bids while gaining exposure to project meetings and change order processes. Minimum 1 year of education toward a related bachelor's degree is required; 1 summer construction experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of education toward a bachelor's degree in CM/CE or similar.
• At least 1 summer of construction work experience preferred.
• Familiarity with takeoff, bidding, and estimating software is a plus.
• Strong communication and ability to read plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specs to determine project scope.
• Perform takeoffs and calculate quantities for bids.
• Solicit subcontractor quotes and assemble bid numbers.
• Assist in bid construction and proposal preparation.
• Attend project meetings and support change orders.
