Job summary

Veit Companies invites students to join a Civil Construction Internship that trains aspiring project managers and estimators. You will work under a mentoring PM/Estimator to develop practical knowledge of bid preparation, takeoffs, and project coordination in real project environments.

Interns gain exposure across Earthwork, Utilities, Demolition, and Foundations while advancing communication skills and technical reading of plans for future full-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of education toward a bachelor's degree in CM/CE/CI or similar.
• At least 1 summer of construction work experience preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications to determine project scope.
• Perform takeoffs and quantity calculations for materials.
• Solicit quotes from subcontractors for bid preparation.
• Construct bids by adding activities, crews, and equipment.
• Attend project meetings and observe change order processes.
