Mentored by a Project Manager/Estimator, interns gain insight into project planning, bidding, and on-site coordination within Earthwork, Utilities, Demolition, and Foundations groups. Requirements include 1 year toward a bachelor’s degree in CM/CE or similar, plus 1 summer construction experience is preferable.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar.
• Minimum 1-year education toward degree.
• At least 1 summer construction work experience is preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Read plans and specifications to determine scope of work and prepare estimates.
• Perform takeoffs and quantity calculations for materials and movement.
• Solicit subcontractor quotes and assemble bid numbers.
• Assist in bid preparation, review, and change-order processes.
