Job summary

Veit & Co is seeking a Civil Construction Intern for a Project Manager/Estimator track focused on foundations. The program offers mentoring in Earthwork, Utilities, Demolition, and Foundations with potential for full-time employment after completion.

You will review plans, perform takeoffs, solicit subs, and help prepare bids while learning change orders and project meetings. This is a hands-on internship in Rogers, MN and New Berlin, WI.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year education toward a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
• At least 1 summer of construction work experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is expected.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications to determine project scope.
• Perform takeoffs and quantities for materials and movements.
• Solicit subcontractor quotes for bid preparation and final numbers.
• Construct bids by adding activities, crews and equipment.
• Attend project meetings and review bid with estimator/PM.
