Job summary

Veit offers a Civil Construction Internship designed for students pursuing a Project Manager/Estimator path. Mentored by a Project Manager/Estimator, interns will learn the role and can be considered for full-time employment based on performance and business need.

Internships cover Earthwork, Utilities, Demolition, and Foundations. The program includes tasks such as plan reviews, takeoffs, bid development, and attending project meetings.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar.
• At least 1 summer of construction work experience preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications to determine project scope.
• Perform takeoffs and estimates using software and manual methods.
• Solicit subcontractor quotes and prepare bids for bid/estimate preparation.
• Attend project meetings and observe the change order process.

1-year education toward bachelor's degree in Construction Management/Construction Engineering/Civil Engineering
