As an intern you will review plans, perform takeoffs, gather subcontractor quotes, and help assemble bids while learning to read plans

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar.
• Strong Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Effective communication with peers and supervisor.
• Ability to read, comprehend and act on simple instructions.
• Ability to respond to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications to determine project scope.
• Review sites before bidding to make appropriate estimates.
• Perform takeoffs using software and hand quantities.
• Calculate quantities for materials and movement (sq yd, lf, cu yds).
• Solicit quotes from subcontractors and consider DBE/MBE requirements.
• Construct bids by adding activities, crews and equipment.
• Prepare and review bid proposals with estimator/PM.
• Observe the change order process.
• Attend project meetings.
