Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a Motorola Solutions subsidiary, is seeking a Business Development Engineer to bridge RF capabilities with USMC requirements. The role supports field demonstrations across expeditionary and littoral environments, with travel up to 50% and a potential fully remote option depending on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related C5ISR field with 2–5 years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense technology roles; OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant technical or defense experience.
• Exposure to or working knowledge of Software‑Defined Radios (SDRs), IP‑based routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
• All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing USMC operational priorities (e.g., Force Design, EABO, MAGTF network design goals) and mapping operational requirements to tactical radio solutions.
• Support technical planning, network configuration, and live-on-the-air execution of field trials, modernizations, and user evaluations.
• Collaborate with the Applications Engineering team to leverage continuous testing and benchmarking data to verify proposed architectures.
• Maintain alignment with the Business Development team to support technical needs and strategic priorities.
• Assist in building and presenting technical demonstrations tailored to expeditionary littoral and tactical edge networking needs.
• Contribute technical input and review support for RFI/RFP proposal responses.
• Perform market research to identify potential integrations with industry partners and test end-to-end network architectures.
• Engage with MARCORSYSCOM, MCWL, PEO Land Systems, and naval warfare centers for technical discussions.
• Gather field feedback to translate requirements into product roadmap inputs.
• Travel 50% for field tests and demonstrations.
