Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, is seeking a Business Development Engineer for the US Marine Corps to bridge RF capabilities with customer requirements. You’ll work with Engineering and Business Development teams to demonstrate interoperability across expeditionary, littoral, ground, airborne, and unmanned environments.

The role offers up to 50% travel for field tests and customer engagements, with a remote-work option depending on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related C5ISR field with 2-5 years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense technology roles; OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant technical or defense experience.
• Security clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
• Exposure to Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing USMC operational priorities and mapping requirements to tactical radio solutions.
• Support planning, network configuration, and field trials, modernization, and user evaluations.
• Collaborate to leverage testing data and ensure architectures are technically sound.
• Maintain alignment with Business Development to support technical needs and priorities.
• Assist in building and presenting technical demonstrations for expeditionary and tactical edge needs.
• Contribute technical input for RFI/RFP responses.
• Perform market research for potential integrations with industry partners.
• Engage with Marine Corps stakeholders and translate feedback into roadmap inputs.
• Travel up to 50% for field tests and demonstrations.
