Job summary

Motorola Solutions, with its Silvus Technologies subsidiary, seeks a Business Development Engineer focused on US Marine Corps programs. You will bridge RF capabilities with customer requirements, supporting field tests, demonstrations, and network solutions across expeditionary environments.

You will collaborate with the Applications Engineering team to align technical work with strategic priorities, travel for field trials, and deliver tailored demonstrations to defense customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related C5ISR field, with 2–5 years in systems engineering or defense tech, or a HS diploma with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Software-Defined Radios, IP-based routing or tactical communication systems.
• Familiarity with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators).
• Ability to obtain Government SECRET clearance within 15 months.
• Experience with TCP/IP networking, Linux, or scripting (Python, C++).
• Ability to work effectively in a remote team and travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Support US Marine Corps acquisition stakeholders with the Applications Engineering team.
• Demonstrate interoperability and field-readiness of the StreamCaster MANET radios across environments.
• Travel up to 50% for field tests, meetings, and demonstrations.
• Map operational requirements to tactical radio solutions.
• Plan networks, configure, and execute field trials and modernizations.
• Collaborate to leverage testing data to validate architectures.
• Align with Business Development on technical needs and priorities.
• Develop and present technical demonstrations for expeditionary networks.
• Conduct market research to identify integrations with industry partners.
• Engage with MARCORSYSCOM, MCWL, PEO Land Systems, and naval warfare centers.
