Job summary

Motorola Solutions, Silvus Technologies division, seeks a Business Development Engineer for the US Marine Corps to bridge radio frequency capabilities with defense customer needs.

You will support field tests, live trials, and demonstrations, coordinate with engineering and BD teams, and help shape product roadmaps. This role requires light to moderate travel, a SECRET clearance, and US citizenship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related C5ISR field with 2–5 years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense technology roles; OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant technical or defense experience.
• Exposure to or working knowledge of Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing USMC operational priorities and map requirements to tactical radio solutions.
• Support planning, network configuration, and live-on-the-air execution of field trials, modernizations, and user evaluations.
• Collaborate to leverage testing data and benchmarking to verify solution architectures.
• Maintain alignment with Business Development to support technical needs.
• Assist in building and presenting technical demonstrations for expeditionary networks.
• Contribute input for RFI/RFP responses and proposals.
• Perform market research for potential integrations with industry partners.
• Engage with MARCORSYSCOM, MCWL, PEO Land Systems, and naval centers.
• Gather field feedback to translate into product roadmap inputs.
