Job summary

Motorola Solutions, through its Silvus Technologies unit, seeks a Business Development Engineer for the US Marine Corps. The role bridges RF capabilities with Marine Corps customer requirements, supporting field tests and demonstrations across expeditionary, littoral, ground, airborne, and unmanned environments.

Up to 50% travel and a remote option are possible depending on location. The position reports to the Director of Applications Engineering and collaborates with engineering and business

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Electrical/Computer/CS/Network Engineering or related field with 2–5 years in systems engineering or defense tech roles; or HS diploma with 5+ years experience.
• Exposure to SDRs, IP routing, or tactical communications systems.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.

Responsibilities

• Analyze USMC operational priorities and map requirements to tactical radio solutions.
• Coordinate field trials, modernizations, and user evaluations.
• Collaborate to use testing data and benchmarking to validate architectures.
• Support BD with technical needs and align with strategic priorities.
• Develop technical demos for expeditionary and tactical edge networking needs.
• Contribute to RFI/RFP responses with technical input.
• Perform market research for integrations with partners and test end-to-end networks.
• Engage with MARCORSYSCOM, MCWL, PEO Land Systems, and naval centers.
