Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern in the Warren, MI area for a hybrid summer program. You will learn PFMEA concepts, assist in risk-reduction activities, and support PFMEA data, reporting, and documentation with cross-functional teams.

You will gain exposure to vehicle launches, plant transitions, and ongoing manufacturing quality improvements while developing technical, analytical, and teamwork skills for a career in Manufacturing Engineering.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Must be graduating between August 2027 and June 2029.
• Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week during the summer months.

Responsibilities

• Learn the fundamentals of PFMEA and how it is used in manufacturing.
• Participate in PFMEA reviews and risk-reduction activities.
• Assist with analyzing manufacturing processes to identify potential risks.
• Support engineers with PFMEA data, reporting, and documentation.
• Participate in PFMEA workshops and learn how different teams work together to solve problems.
• Learn how lessons learned are captured and applied to future vehicle programs.
• Gain exposure to vehicle launch activities and the transition from Launch to Plant.
• Work with Manufacturing, Quality, Launch, and Plant teams.
• Use Microsoft tools, Google tools, and other computer-based analytical and collaboration tools to organize, analyze, and communicate information.
• Assist with projects that improve manufacturing quality, productivity, and process reliability.
