Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Quality Engineer Intern in Michigan to apply analytical skills to solve unusual problems and support data-driven resolutions between production, engineering, suppliers and internal customers.

You will drive problem solving, participate in containment and corrective actions, and support supplier-related issues and launch activities at a GM manufacturing plant. This internship emphasizes quality, safety, and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Quality Engineering.
• Must be graduating between August 2027 and June 2029.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Must be willing to work in a plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Interact with production and engineering on part measurement results to part print specifications to assure quality and reliability.
• Ensure effective containment and resolution to identified non-conforming product.
• Communicate emerging issues for responsible components daily to Quality Systems Manager.
• Coordinate repair, rework, and containment activities for identified spills.
• Validate supplier scrap.
• Work with SPPS on supplier related issues.
