Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Quality Engineer Intern to drive data-driven problem solving at a GM manufacturing plant. You will collaborate with production, engineering and suppliers to ensure quality and safety while gaining hands-on experience in a real-world plant environment.

The role requires pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Quality Engineering with graduation between Aug 2027 and Jun 2029, and the ability to work full-time.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Quality Engineering.
• Must be graduating between August 2027 and June 2029.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Must be willing to work in a plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Interact with production and engineering on part measurement results to part print specifications to assure quality and reliability.
• Ensure effective containment and resolution to identified non-conforming product.
• Communicate emerging issues for responsible components daily to Quality Systems Manager.
• Coordinate repair, rework, and containment activities for identified spills.
• Validate supplier scrap.
• Work with SPPS process on supplier related issues.
• Support the PTR Process by running PTRs and evaluating impact on the product/function.
• Support launch activities of new products.
• Support the implementation and effective adherence to all elements within GMS.
