Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking an experienced M&A and Accounting Policy Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of accounting for acquisitions and strategic investments. You will shape policies, perform due diligence, and drive high-quality disclosures across 10-Q and 10-K filings.

You will partner with Legal, Tax, and Controllership to ensure GAAP accuracy and strong internal controls, while leveraging AI with appropriate human oversight to enhance workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of progressive accounting experience including Big 4 and industry roles.
• CPA certification required.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge across M&A (ASC 805), investment (ASC 321/323), and consolidation (ASC 810).
• Experience leading external consultants across M&A workstreams.
• Ability to draft technical accounting memos and disclosures clearly for cross-functional stakeholders.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflow.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial due diligence on target companies with earnings quality and working capital assessment.
• Own end-to-end purchase accounting under ASC 805, including PPA and goodwill calculation.
• Drive accounting for strategic investments under ASC 321/323 and fair value options.
• Develop accounting policy memos for new products in partnership with external auditors.
• Prepare disclosures for MD&A, footnotes, 10-Q and 10-K; ensure SOX controls are effective.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal, Tax, FP&A, Controllership, and Corporate Development.
