Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a seasoned M&A and Accounting Policy Manager to own the accounting lifecycle for acquisitions and investments. You’ll partner with Legal, Corporate Development, Tax, and Controllership to apply US GAAP and shape policy for new products and transactions.

You will lead due diligence, perform purchase accounting, draft memos, and ensure robust disclosures and SOX controls, while guiding external advisors and internal stakeholders through complex engagements.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of progressive accounting experience with public accounting and industry background.
• Broad US GAAP knowledge including M&A, investment accounting, and consolidation.
• Strong experience leading due diligence across live deal processes.
• Experience managing external consultants and advisors across workstreams.
• Ability to draft technical memos and disclosures clearly for cross-functional teams.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflow.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial due diligence on target companies including earnings quality and risk assessment.
• Own end-to-end purchase accounting under ASC 805 and related allocations.
• Drive accounting for strategic investments under ASC 321/323 and ASC 810.
• Develop and evolve accounting policies through technical memos and close with auditors.
• Prepare footnote disclosures, MD&A, and disclosures for 10-Q/10-K with SOX controls.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal, Tax, FP&A, Controllership, and Corporate Development.
