Job summary

Coinbase seeks an M&A and Accounting Policy Manager to lead accounting across the full lifecycle of transactions, from due diligence to post‑close integration. You will evolve policies with Legal, Tax, and Controllership, applying deep US GAAP expertise and ensuring strong SOX controls.

You will partner with Product, Legal, and Corporate Development on new launches and complex transactions, delivering clear disclosures and cross‑functional guidance.

Qualifications

• CPA required with 9+ years of accounting experience.
• Broad US GAAP knowledge including ASC 805, ASC 321, ASC 323, ASC 810.
• Proven experience leading financial due diligence and deal workstreams.
• Ability to draft technical accounting memos and disclosures.
• Experience coordinating with external auditors and cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial due diligence on target companies, including earnings quality and working capital assessment.
• Own end-to-end purchase accounting under ASC 805, including PPA and goodwill measurement.
• Guide accounting for strategic investments under ASC 321, ASC 323, ASC 810 (equity method, FV options).
• Develop and refine accounting policies through technical memos with Legal, Tax, Controllership.
• Prepare footnote disclosures, MD&A, and 10-Q/10-K disclosures; ensure SOX controls are robust.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal, Tax, FP&A, and Corporate Development for new products and post‑close integration.
