Job summary

Coinbase is seeking an M&A and Accounting Policy Manager to lead financial due diligence, purchase accounting, and policy development across new products and transactions. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure accurate disclosures and compliant reporting.

You will drive policy evolution, manage external advisors, and contribute to 10-Q/10-K filings while upholding SOX controls and high standards of financial accuracy.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of progressive accounting experience with a CPA.
• Broad US GAAP knowledge including M&A accounting (ASC 805), investment accounting (ASC 321, ASC 323), and consolidation (ASC 810).
• Led financial due diligence across live deal processes with quality of earnings and working capital assessment.
• Managed external consultants/advisors across M&A workstreams, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
• Drafted technical accounting memos and financial statement disclosures for cross-functional stakeholders.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial due diligence on target companies, including quality of earnings and working capital assessments.
• Own end-to-end purchase accounting for acquisitions under ASC 805, including PPA and goodwill.
• Drive accounting for strategic investments under ASC 321, ASC 323, ASC 810 (equity method, fair value).
• Shape Coinbase accounting policies with memos on new products and transactions.
• Deliver disclosures for 10-Q/10-K and ensure SOX controls are effective.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal, Tax, FP&A, Controllership, and Corporate Development on new launches and integrations.
