Job summary

The Press Hotel in Portland, ME is seeking a Front Desk Supervisor to lead guest services and uphold the hotel's luxury standards. You will ensure a welcoming, professional atmosphere at the lobby and front desk, mentor staff, and oversee daily operations to deliver memorable stays.

Responsibilities include maintaining appearance, handling guest requests, coordinating VIP arrivals, and driving up-sell opportunities while ensuring confidentiality and teamwork. Weekend shifts required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' hospitality experience, preferably in the luxury lifestyle hotel.
• 1+ year leadership experience.
• Knowledge of hotel products, services, pricing and promotions.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest and colleague information.
• Capacity to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the professional appearance of the Front Desk with a focus on hospitality and Guest service.
• Interact with guests on an individual level, creating relationships and repeat stays.
• Maintain cleanliness of Lobby + Front Desk areas and restocking as needed.
• Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests at all times.
• Assist with VIP meet & greet at check-in and escort VIP rooms to ensure arrival standards.
• Manage guest requests, inquiries, and complaints, escalating to FOM where necessary.
• Ensure guest complaints are entered and resolved by end of shift.
• Compose handover report and participate in AM/PM shift meetings.
• Monitor performance and coaching to maintain professional standards.
• Maximize sales revenues through up-selling and train agents on up-sell techniques.
