Job summary

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and planning skills; 50-hour weeks are typical, with ability to work nights/weekends as needed. Local coordination with customers and drivers is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry and basic paperwork flow.
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience in LTL trucking.
• Must be able to work 50 hours/week on average and lift 20 lbs.
• Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead drivers and staff; set targets and monitor performance.
• Enforce company policies, safety rules, and procedures.
• Coordinate hiring, coaching, and development; participate in terminations as needed.
• Manage service center plans, KPI achievement, and scheduling optimization.
• Communicate with customers to resolve scheduling issues and deliver explanations.
