Job summary

Estes Express in Ohio is seeking a Dock Operations Supervisor to lead dock staff, set targets, monitor performance, coach and develop a team, and ensure an efficient, safe LTL operation with proper dock planning.

You will enforce company policies, participate in hiring and termination decisions, manage paperwork, coordinate with customers, and maintain KPI performance while ensuring timely compliance with safety rules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or combination of education and experience providing equivalent background.
• Thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry, including basic paperwork flow preferred.
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience required, preferably in LTL trucking industry.
• Must be knowledgeable of local metropolitan area.
• Strong leadership including ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, mentor and terminate employees.
• Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead dock employees; set targets, monitor performance, provide coaching and development.
• Ensure efficient, clean and safe LTL operation; plan dock and set up schedules.
• Enforce company policies, safety rules, and government regulations.
• Involved in hiring and termination processes.
• Administer sections of the Service Center Business plan as directed by the Service Center Manager.
• Meet KPI targets and utilize company tools to improve performance.
• Coordinate equipment movement (trailers and tractors) with peers and management.
• Communicate with customers via phone, fax, or email; ensure timely paperwork handling.
• Attend to daily operational duties; flexibility for other duties as required.
