Job summary

Estes Express is seeking a dock supervisor to lead and direct dock personnel, set performance targets and coach staff for an efficient LTL operation. You will manage dock planning, schedules and ensure safety, policy compliance and timely documentation.

You will participate in hiring decisions and manage performance, including coaching and terminations as needed, to meet KPIs and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, mentor and terminate employees.
• Thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry, including basic paperwork flow preferred.
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience required, preferably in LTL trucking industry.
• Must be knowledgeable of local metropolitan area.
• Must be able to work 50 hours/week on average.
• Must be able to lift approximately 20 lbs. or more as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead, guide and direct dock employees to set targets, monitor performance and develop staff.
• Manage an efficient, safe LTL operation including dock planning and schedules.
• Enforce safety policies and government regulations; ensure compliance with company rules.
• Participate in hiring and termination processes as needed.
• Oversee documentation and paperwork to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
• Communicate with customers by phone, fax or email.
