Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking a skilled Operations Supervisor to lead dock personnel and coordinate daily LTL activities in Portland, OR. You will set targets, monitor performance, and coach the team to ensure safe, efficient operations.

This role requires strong leadership, planning, and communication, with emphasis on policy compliance and cost control. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED (Bachelor preferred) and prior dock/dispatch management experience.

Qualifications

• Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, mentor and terminate employees.
• Excellent planning and organization skills.
• Must be able to lift approximately 20 lbs.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead, guide and direct dock employees, set targets and monitor performance.
• Manage dock planning and schedules for efficient LTL operation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety rules and government regulations.
• Oversee hiring and termination processes as part of the Service Center plan.
• Administer portions of the Service Center Business plan as directed by the Service Center Manager.
• Meet KPI targets and utilize company tools and processes.
• Communicate with customers via phone, fax, or email.
• Review and revise schedules to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Manage equipment assignment (trailers and tractors) in collaboration with supervisors.
