Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking a Dock Supervisor to lead dock employees, set targets, and ensure efficient, safe operations for the LTL network. The role emphasizes coaching, hiring decisions, schedule optimization, and KPI attainment.

The candidate will manage paperwork, communicate with customers, and collaborate with management to meet service level goals in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; bachelor’s preferred.
• Understanding of LTL trucking and related paperwork.
• Prior management, dispatch or dock experience required, preferably in LTL.
• Knowledge of local metropolitan area.
• Strong leadership: hire, coach, mentor, train, and terminate.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; planning skills.
• Proficient computer skills (AS/400 & MS Office a plus).
• Ability to work 50 hours/week on any shift, including nights/weekends.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks; authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead dock employees; set targets and monitor performance.
• Coach, counsel and develop staff; participate in hiring/termination.
• Manage dock planning, schedules and KPI achievement.
• Oversee equipment movement and coordination with supervisors.
• Ensure timely, accurate paperwork and customer communications.
• Adhere to safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain attendance and handle evolving duties as required.
