Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor preferred.
• Thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry.
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience.
• Knowledge of local metropolitan area.
• Strong leadership; ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, mentor and terminate.
• Team building and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
• Excellent planning and organization skills.
• Knowledge of AS/400 & MS Office a plus.
• Willing to work 50 hours/week; nights/weekends possible.
• Able to lift 20 lbs.; comply with company policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead dock employees, set targets, monitor performance, and coach staff.
• Manage efficient dock operations with scheduling and planning.
• Enforce safety policies and government regulations.
• Participate in hiring and termination processes.
• Administer portions of the Service Center Business plan.
• Meet KPI targets and use daily enhancement tools.
• Review schedules to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Oversee equipment movement with supervisors.
• Communicate with customers by phone, fax, or email.
• Ensure dock paperwork is completed timely and accurately.
• Maintain regular attendance.
