Job summary

Axsome Therapeutics, Inc. is seeking a field-based Long-Term Care (LTC) Specialty Account Manager to drive LTC commercial activities and support a successful launch in the assigned geography.

The SAM will be a disease state expert and account specialist, developing territory plans, promoting ethical product use, and navigating payer policies to ensure patient access and outcomes. Significant travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience, including 2+ years in LTC or account-based selling environments.
• Demonstrated Top 10% or Elite/President’s Club performance.
• Launch experience strongly preferred.
• Must live within the geography of the assigned territory.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to reach business goals.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks under accelerated timelines.
• Strong digital marketing aptitude.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive LTC product adoption within assigned LTC facilities.
• Engage both virtually and in person with LTC care teams and related staff.
• Build relationships with psychiatrists, neurologists, nurses and care teams.
• Develop territory plans with account plans for targeted LTC facilities.
• Ensure compliant, ethical promotion within labeling and regulations.
• Provide payer and access support, including prior-authorization processes.
• Navigate reimbursement tools and patient access programs.
• Communicate territory activity and feedback to leadership.
• Attend medical congresses and society meetings as needed.
