Job summary
The American Red Cross is seeking a Category Manager, Logistics Services, a virtual role that can be located anywhere in the United States. You will manage a portfolio of third-party transportation, fleet, couriers, and related logistics services, partnering with internal clients and suppliers to develop category strategies and drive measurable improvements in cost and performance.
With 7+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's in Supply Management (Master's preferred) plus professional
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Management or related field; Master's preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 7 years of related experience; experience managing third-party spend.
- Skills & Abilities: Leadership, collaboration, influence, planning, and stakeholder communication.
Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and execute category strategies for logistics services.
- Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy through negotiation and implementation.
- Develop and lead contract negotiations and manage risk.
- Analyze spend and market conditions to drive value and performance.
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Risk, and Analytics for informed decisions.
- Define KPIs, service levels, and governance for suppliers.
- Coordinate with internal clients and cross-functional stakeholders for alignment.
- Maintain category governance and timely reporting on activities and outcomes.
