Job summary

American Red Cross is seeking a Category Manager, Logistics Services for the Supply Chain Business Unit. This virtual role can be located anywhere in the United States, reporting to the Director of Supply Management.

You will lead sourcing, category strategies, and supplier performance across transportation, fleet, and courier services. You will analyze spend, market conditions, and business needs to deliver measurable improvements in cost, service, and risk.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's in Supply Management or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience: 7+ years in sourcing/procurement in a large org; experience with third‑party spend.
• Management: Not applicable.
• Skills & Abilities: Leadership, collaboration, stakeholder comms, and ability to develop business cases.
• Travel: Some travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute category strategies for assigned logistics services.
• Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy to contracting and implementation.
• Develop negotiation strategies for contracts and pricing; manage risk.
• Analyze spend, costs, and supplier performance; drive cost savings and value creation.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Risk, and Analytics to evaluate alternatives and build business cases.
• Define KPIs, service levels, and governance for supplier relationships.
• Manage internal stakeholder alignment and successful implementation of sourcing initiatives.
• Maintain category governance, documentation, and timely reporting.
